Samsung started rolling out the November 2024 security updates for a few Galaxy devices in the beginning of the month and is continuing to do so.
The latest offerings from the manufacturer to receive the updates are the Galaxy S21 FE, Galaxy Tab S10 Series, and factory-unlocked Galaxy S23 series.
These updates can be installed manually through the Settings update section in the Settings menu of the smartphone or tablet. Alternatively, they can be downloaded and installed manually using a Windows PC and the Odin tool. The updates focus on addressing several security loopholes rather than offering performance enhancements.
Galaxy S21 FE
Samsung has just rolled out the security update to the Galaxy S21 FE with the model number SM-G990B. At present, only the S21 FE models in the European market are eligible for the update. Interestingly, this is the first Fan Edition (FE) handset from the manufacturer to avail the update.
The update is associated with the G990BXXSBGXJ3 firmware version and has a relatively small size of close to 357 MB.
Galaxy Tab S10 Series
The manufacturer released the security update for the Galaxy Tab S10 series comprising the Galaxy Tab S10, Tab S10+, and Tab S10 Ultra in the United States a week ago. This is now followed by the tablets in South Korea receiving the update as well.
Samsung has also offered a software update for the first time in the Galaxy Tab S10+ and Tab S10 Ultra tablets in the home country ever since their launch. The update features the firmware version X92xNKOS2AXJ7 and has a size of approximately 357 MB. Apart from including the security patch, this update offers enhancements to the Auto Blocker feature in the two tablets.
Galaxy Tab S23 Series
The carrier-locked Galaxy S23 series featuring the Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra have already received the security update. Samsung is now making the same update available for the three factory-unlocked models
