The Galaxy S25 Edge has been in the news even before Samsung teased it at the Galaxy Unpacked event without any details.
A new leak now hints at the material for the back panel which raises concerns about the durability of the Galaxy S25 Edge smartphone.
Ceramic Back Panel
According to a recently leaked source, this ‘Edge’ smartphone will come with a back panel made of ceramic. The choice of this material will indeed make the panel scratch-resistant and hard. However, this also means we can expect it to break easily if it falls onto a hard surface because of its brittle nature.

It is not common for smartphones to use ceramic for the rear panels. The manufacturer is likely to have opted for this choice of material to cut down on the weight of its handset. It is worth noting that advanced ceramics used in smartphones are more durable than glass but lighter at the same time. On the other hand, standard ceramics is heavier and denser than glass.
The S25 Edge is touted to have an aluminum frame in the middle like the Galaxy S25 and S25+ variants in the same series.
Expected S25 Edge Specs
The S25 Edge will have a 6.7-inch display and a 3,900 mAh battery with support for 25 W rapid charging.
The smartphone will have an octa-core Snapdragon 8 Elite processor with at least 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage. The handset will come with Android 15 preinstalled.
