There have been several leaks around the iPhone 17 lineup comprising the iPhone 17, Air, Pro, and Pro Max in the past.
A new report from an internal source now reveals the wired charging speeds of the iPhone 17 lineup which will be the first from the manufacturer to do away with a Plus variant and introduce a slim handset.
The same report mentions that the base and Pro variants will have aluminum frames while the iPhone 17 Air will come with a titanium frame.
No Improvement in Charging Speed
According to a MacRumors report by Jeff Pu, Apple supply chain analyst, all four smartphones in the series will have the same wired charging speed of 35 W. This is a tad lower than the charging speed of the earlier iPhone 16 series.
Going by a ChargerLAB report from last year, the vanilla iPhone 16 offers 38 W maximum charging speed. In contrast, the peak charging speed of the top-end iPhone 16 Pro Max is 37 W.
Although the 35 W charging speed is not a very big letdown as far as Apple is concerned, it is definitely very low considering most counterparts from Android. Some Android handsets have more than 100 W charging capabilities.

The report does not reveal anything about the iPhone 17 lineup featuring a different MagSafe wireless charging speed when compared to the iPhone 16 series. The present series offers 25 W MagSafe wireless charging support. It is expected that the upcoming lineup will offer the same charging.
Other Expected iPhone 17 Lineup Specs
The lineup will house the manufacturer’s A19 chipset incorporating the most recent 3 nm processor. This processor is bound to enhance the performance of smartphones by 25%. They will run on the manufacturer’s iOS 18 operating system.

The handsets will incorporate OLED screens with ProMotion technology on their display panels for a better viewing experience. This will boost the refresh rate of the screens from 60 Hz to 120 Hz.
Apple is slated to follow its standard trend of launching its flagship iPhones in September. The brand is anticipated to adopt the same timeline this time around and launch the iPhone 17 lineup between the 11th and 13th of September 2025.
