Though fans are excited about the spring drop, they wish for Mojang to make some alterations to it.
The gaming community is quite excited about the upcoming Minecraft spring drop. While the drop is expected to bring only aesthetic features, huge expectations are attached to it. For a while, fans have been teased with the spring update. One of the features fans are looking forward to is the hot and cold variants for passive mobs. These variants are expected to complement the wolf variants from Armored Paws very well.
Reports, which have emerged in the past, have indicated this update bringing in items like leaf particles, leaf litter, new ambient sounds and wildflowers. Through firefly bushes, fireflies, too, will be making an appearance in the game. There is one element in this update, however, which fans are not too excited about.

Pigs, cows and chickens will be receiving new variant designs depending on whether they spawn in hot or cold biome. Towards sheep, however, the update will have a different approach. Instead of getting new models, sheep spawn with different wool colors based on the biome temperature.
As one can see in the latest snapshot, each of the three temperature categories features a different group of sheep colors that can be spawned there. This system has been designed to make light blue, blue, cyan, red, yellow, and orange sheep spawn at the same frequency. Making it possible for different sheep colors to spawn organically might not be a wise decision taken by Minecraft. These alterations go against the objective of the drop and would also result in the devaluation of a much-loved Easter egg.

The upcoming Minecraft spring drop aims to add a sense of ‘lived in’ to the world of Minecraft. This drop will result in ambient features getting added to the game. If naturally spawning wool colors are thrown in, the game would not be able to meet this objective. Though it could bring in some diversity, it would result in things getting less immersive.
This Easter egg has been a part of the game since 2011. This sheep is rare and recognized very easily owing to the fact that it was the first mob seen in the original A Minecraft Movie trailer. If players stumble upon a red, yellow or blue sheep all the time, they might miss out on noticing a rare pink sheep or the rare mob.
