Galaxy Z Flip FE Tipped to be Renamed as Galaxy Z Flip Xe

The Galaxy Z Flip FE, also known as the Galaxy Z Flip7 FE, is touted to be an affordable variant of the upcoming Z Flip 7.

There have been various leaks on and off about the specifications of the smartphone. A new leak now states that the brand is likely to drop the FE tag and name the budget-friendly foldable as Galaxy Z Flip Xe. However, Samsung has officially not made any statement in this regard.

There is also no information about the reason for the name change. Interestingly, the handset has been spotted in the GSMA database with the new name.

Expected Flip FE / Flip Xe Specs

Going by past leaks, the Z Flip FE or Z Flip Xe will borrow a few specs from the Z Flip 5 and Z Flip 6 as a part of its initiative to cut corners.

The foldable will have the same 3.4-inch cover screen and AMOLED 6.7-inch main display as that of the Galaxy Z Flip 6.

The smartphone will adopt the camera setup of the Z Flip 5. There will be two cameras on the back. These cameras have a 12 MP resolution and are a main camera and an ultra-wide sensor. The secondary or front-facing camera will have a 10 MP resolution.

The handset will be powered by the manufacturer’s Exynos 2400e processor under its hood. This chipset is an underclocked version of the Exynos 2400 processor.

One of the earlier reports states that the brand will initially produce 160,000 units of the Galaxy Z Flip Xe or Z Flip FE. This means that the production count will be slightly more than that of the upcoming Z Fold 7.

Samsung is working on its next set of flagship foldables, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Z Fold 7.

The rumor mill has spilled the beans about various details of the smartphones in the past. A new leak now reveals the launch timeframe and venue of the handsets.

According to the new report by JoongAng that has emerged recently, the South Korean tech giant is expected to host its annual Galaxy Unpacked event in New York in the United States. The brand will use this event as an opportunity to introduce the two foldables.

Expected Galaxy Z Flip 7 Specs

The Z Flip 7 will have bigger cover and inner displays than its predecessor. The cover display will have a size of 4 inches, while the inner display will have a size of 6.85 inches.

The battery will be bigger than before, with a size of 4174 mAh and the bezels will also be thinner.

Rumored Galaxy Z Flip 7 Specs

The Z Fold 7 will be equipped with a 6.5-inch outer display and a large 8.2-inch display. The crease in the inside will also not be as prominent as before.

For the cameras, the smartphone will have a revised 200 MP primary camera. There will be no change to the 12 MP ultrawide and 10 MP telephoto cameras.

The two handsets are also slated to share a few common specs. They will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Made for Galaxy chipset under the hood. This chipset is anticipated to have a higher peak clock speed than the standard variant. The foldables will ship with Android 16 and the manufacturer’s One UI 8 out of the box.

The report cited above mentions that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Z Fold 7 will see the light of day in early July. This falls in line with another earlier report that claims the foldables will break cover on July 4th, a few days before their predecessors did so last year.

Galaxy Z Flip FE and Galaxy Tri-Fold Tipped to Have a Delayed Launch

The rumor mill has churned out quite a few details of the affordable Galaxy Z Flip FE from Samsung in the past.

One of them cited that the smartphone will break cover along with the more expensive Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 in July this year.

However, a new report from The Bell now states that the handset will have a delayed launch and is expected to see the light of day in Q4 2025 along with the manufacturer’s tri-fold.

Expected Galaxy Z Flip FE Details

Past reports have indicated that the Z Flip FE will share most of the specifications of the Galaxy Z Flip 5 while the design is reminiscent of the Z Flip 6.

The smartphone will house 8 GB of RAM under its hood. While one set of reports claims that the foldable will house the manufacturer’s Exynos 2500 chipset, other reports indicate that the choice of processor will be an Exynos 2400e chipset. This is the same processor that the manufacturer opted for in the Galaxy S24 FE. It will additionally comprise a maximum of 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage.

On the back, the handset will have two cameras with a 12 MP resolution. The two cameras will be a main camera and an ultra-wide camera. There will also be a 10 MP snapper on the front.

The Z Flip FE will have a 6.7-inch inner display and a 3.4-inch cover display.

It is worth noting that the brand has not confirmed any of the above specifications and hence must be considered with a pinch of salt.

Galaxy Tri-Fold

Samsung has not declared a name for its upcoming trifold. However, it could be associated with the Galaxy G Fold branding.

The smartphone will support an inward folding action, resulting in an extended thickness of 298 g.

The handset is likely to have a 9.98-inch display. It is anticipated to feature a length of 6.54 inches when it is in the folded state and will weigh 298 g.

The rumor mill has churned out several details about the Galaxy Z Flip 7 in the past.

Almost all of them stated that the smartphone will be launched with a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor in some regions and the manufacturer’s Exynos 2500 chipset in other regions. A new report has now emerged that hints that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 will support only one processor.

It states that the brand may opt to launch the foldable with only its Exynos 2500 chipset. The processor is a 3 nm chipset and is still under development. It is expected to make its debut in the second quarter of this year.

The Galaxy Z Flip 7 will have bigger displays than its predecessor. The handset will have an AMOLED 4-inch cover display and a main or inner LTPO AMOLED 6.85-inch display. Both displays will have a refresh rate of 120 Hz.

The smartphone will house 12 GB RAM and offer storage options of 128 GB, 256 GB, and 512 GB. It will come with Android 15 topped with One UI 7 preinstalled.

The Z Flip 7 will have a dual camera setup on the back panel. These are a 50 MP main camera with OIS and PDAF support and a 12 MP ultra-wide camera. On the front, the foldable will have a 10 MP camera.

The handset will be powered by a 4,000 mAh battery. The battery will support 25 W wired charging and 10 W wireless charging.

According to one of the latest reports, Samsung will begin the mass production of the Galaxy Z Flip 7 next month. The manufacturing sites will be located in South Korea and Vietnam. Following production, the smartphone is anticipated to see the light of day, along with the Galaxy Z Fold 7, in July 2025.

Following the leak revealing the CAD renders of the handset, a new report now talks about the camera and processor in the Fan Edition model.

Rumored Camera and Processor Specs

A GalaxyClub report states that the Z Flip 7 FE will house two cameras on its rear panel. These include a main camera and an ultra-wide sensor with 12 MP and 10 MP resolutions, respectively.

The camera on the front for video calls and selfies will have a resolution of 10 MP. This is the same camera that the brand opted for in its Galaxy Z Flip 5.

The same report indicates that the smartphone will house the manufacturer’s Exynos 2400e processor under its hood. This chip will be paired with 8 GB RAM.

However, it is mentioned that only European variants with the model number SM-F761B will come with this processor. It is not known at this point in time if the US counterpart will have a different processor or use the same chip.

The above details are yet to be confirmed by Samsung. Hence, it is likely that they may change over time and must be considered with a pinch of salt. Moreover, the manufacturer is also tight-lipped about other specs of the handset.

Additionally, there are speculations that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE will be a rebranded Galaxy Z Flip 5 with an advanced processor. If this is true, both foldables may share many common specifications and there are speculations that the upcoming foldable will be powered by the same 3,700 mAh battery.

The Galaxy Z Flip FE is touted to be an affordable variant of the manufacturer’s foldables.

The Galaxy Z Flip FE smartphone has now joined the  Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 in getting itself listed on the 3C platform with its charging details.

As always, the moniker has not been explicitly mentioned in the listing. Only the model number SM-F7610 has been mentioned.

The listing mentions that the handset will support 5G connectivity. It will offer a charging speed of 25 W which is typical of mid-range offerings from the brand.

The certification also points out that while the smartphone will be available without an adapter, it will be compatible with an EP-TA800 travel adapter.

Rumored Z Flip FE Specs

Very little information is available about the Z Flip FE is available at the moment. From what details are known, the handset will house an Exynos 2500 processor from the manufacturer under its hood. If this is true, this will be the first time that the manufacturer will be opting for an Exynos processor for its foldable as all other foldables have so far been powered by Snapdragon chipsets from Qualcomm.

For the display, the smartphone will house the same display as that of the Z Flip 6 which has a 3.4-inch Super AMOLED cover display and a 6.7-inch foldable Dynamic LTPO AMOLED 2X inner display.

Past reports state that the Galaxy Z Flip FE will see the light of day along with the expensive Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 counterparts.

The listings also mention that the handsets will be compatible with an adapter with the model number EP-TA800. They will offer 25 W wired charging support. However, the same listings also make it clear that the foldables will be sold without an adapter.

The Z Flip 7 will have a 4,300 mAh battery under its hood. The predecessor Galaxy Z Fold 6 is powered by a slightly smaller 4,000 mAh battery.

The Z Fold 7 will come with a resolution of 200 MP for its main camera. Its under-display camera sensor will also be better than that of its predecessor.

For the processor, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 will house the manufacturer’s Exynos 2500 processor under its hood. On the other hand, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will incorporate a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset from Qualcomm.

Galaxy Z Flip 7 Leak Indicates an Almost Unchanged Design

CAD renders of Galaxy Z Flip 7 have been leaked and they show the design of the phone.

The unofficial renders of the Galaxy Z Flip 7 device show a light blue color of the phone and if you are someone looking for a major design change, you’re going to be disappointed because there is almost none.

The images were leaked by Android Headlines in partnership with Onleaks and show the display and dimensions of the phone along with the camera sensor placement at the back. The first look at these images would make you wonder if they are actually the images of Galaxy Z Flip 6. It’s going to be really challenging to find any differences in design.

Design & Dimensions of Galaxy Z Flip 7

Apart from the design, the dimensions have also been shared. The Galaxy Z Flip7 will have a foldable screen that measures 6.8 inches and the cover display will measure 3.6 inches. The predecessor Z Flip 6’s dimensions were 6.7-inch and 3.4-inch respectively. The few millimeters difference doesn’t indicate thinner bezels.

When the phone is held in an unfolded state, Z Flip7 measures 166.6mm in length, 75.2mm in height and 6.9mm in thickness. Z Flip 6 measured 165.1 and 71.9 mm respectively.

What may not be visible in these images is the foldable display crease of the phone. The technology behind the foldable screen might actually be improved which would result in a better folding experience.

Pricing and Release Date

Samsung is likely to release the Galaxy Z Flip 7 smartphone  (along with Z Fold 7) sometime in the first half of July, as has been the case with its previous launches of Z Flip and Z Fold devices. They could be priced around $1,099, similar to last year’s models as there may not be significant upgrades in this year’s devices.
